The first stop is Pinnawala, where you’ll explore the elephant orphanage, caring for around eighty elephants abandoned by their herds. Witness the baby jumbos’ milk feeding and their daily river bath.
Continuing your adventure, you’ll arrive in the historic royal city of Kandy, nestled amid lush hills. Explore the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred site where Lord Buddha’s tooth relic is honored. DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA

With origins dating back to 1371 during the reign of King Vikrama Bahu III, the present garden was established by the English in 1821. Explore the expansive grounds featuring a diverse array of orchids, palms, bushes, and an impressive collection of tropical plants and flowers.
Leaving Kandy, your route takes you north, offering picturesque views of paddy fields, coconut groves, rubber and spice gardens, and lush plantations. A stop at one of the spice gardens provides insight into the cultivation of various spices, with an opportunity to observe the plants up close.
Continuing your journey, ascend to explore the Dambulla cave temple. This temple complex encompasses five separate caverns adorned with numerous statues of the Buddha and Hindu deities.

SIGIRIYA – POLONNARUWA

In the afternoon, the journey takes you to Polonnaruwa, the well-preserved ancient city that served as the capital in Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th Century. Explore the archaeological wonders, including temples, dagobas, the royal palace, and the royal library among other excavations.
